MISS FAYETTEVLLE & MISS FAYETTEVILLE'S TEEN REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility - Miss Fayetteville & Miss Fayetteville's Teen
The journey to Miss America and Miss America's Teen begins at the local level. Local title holders will move on to compete for the titles of Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina's Teen with the state title holders competing as one of 51 finalist for Miss America and Miss America's Teen!
Participation in Miss America or Miss America's Teen in September 2026 or at the local and state level during this competition cycle, is subject to the eligibility criteria below. A candidate must:
- be a female
- be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college
- meet the age criteria listed below
Miss America - Open to ages 18-28. Candidates must be NO OLDER than 28 on September 30, 2026, and no younger than 18 on September 1, 2026.
Miss America's Teen - Open to ages 14-18. Candidates must be no YOUNGER than 14 by September 1, 2026 and no older than 18 on September 30, 2026. Additional notes on Teen age criteria can be found on the Miss America web site by clicking here: Miss America Eligibiity
To begin your journey, first register for Club America through the link below. Then, upon successful Club America registration, follow up with the Miss Fayetteville Organization for the next steps to enroll in our upcoming local competition.
Eligibility & Registration - Carolina Stars
The Carolina Stars program is a mentoring program open to ages 5-12. Carolina Stars are encouraged to join their local mentors at appearances, volunteer opportunities, and other community events during their year of service. If selected, Carolina Stars may have the opportunity to participate on the state level at the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Competition along with their mentors. You can access the Carolina Stars local registration form and information packet through the button below.

The following information is for local and state competitions that lead up to the crowning of Miss America’s Teen. The list below is designed to assist with determining the eligibility for a contestant to compete in a Miss America’s Teen state or local competition, based upon the age/education eligibility rules of the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen organizations.
To compete you must:
- Be a young lady between the ages of 14 and 18
- Be a United States citizen.
- Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain local competition.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss North Carolina's Teen and Miss America's Teen organizations.
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements for serving as Miss North Carolina's Teen.
- Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete.
To be eligible to compete as an at-large, local or state participant for either Miss America or Miss America’s Teen in September 2026, you must: be a female, meet the age criteria as shown below, be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college.
- Miss America’s Teen 14-18: must be no YOUNGER than 14 by September 1 and no older than 18 on Sept 30, 2026.

Additionally, once an 18-year-old decides on the division she may compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle. Please proceed to your applicable state online application.
- Miss America HQ allows the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.
The journey to Miss American or Miss America's Teen begins on the local level. Local title holders will compete on the state level and the winner at the state level will become one of 51 finalist for the Miss American or Miss America's Teen crown! The process to confirm your eligibility is simple. First, you have to register and become a Club America Member. Membership is valid for one competition season.
